Program structure

Our two-year graduate program provides you with structured development that fits right into your role. We include extra activities to boost your leadership skills, spark your innovation, and help you chart the course for your dream career.
 
Our graduate program consists of two streams and you may have a choice between:
 
Stream 1 – Work in one project/department and enjoy the stability and opportunity to develop deep knowledge of that domain.

Stream 2 – Undertake three eight-month rotations and develop knowledge and skills in different and dynamic areas of our business.
 
Whichever stream you join, you can be assured your career will be off to a great start.

About You:

To apply, you must be due to complete your graduate studies in 2024 (or have already completed) a university degree qualification in an appropriate discipline. 

Available to work full time from: February 2025.

You'll also need to be an Australian citizen and eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance due to the nature of our work.

This position is available in two options: Stream 1 (non-rotational) or Stream 2 (rotational), based in Melbourne.

What You'll Do:

As a Business Winning Graduate at BAE Systems, you will:

  • Conceptualise, implement, integrate, test, and secure business opportunities with strategic precision, targeting both public and private sectors. Picture yourself as the catalyst behind successful business ventures that propel organisations forward and maximise revenue streams.
  • Master the art of business development tools and methodologies, using your analytical skills to identify and capitalise on market trends and opportunities.
  • Evaluate potential business solutions meticulously, selecting those that align with organisational goals and have the potential to redefine success in the competitive landscape.
  • Transform business strategies into tangible results by leading prospecting, pitching, and proposal activities. Ensure that your business-winning initiatives are not only innovative but also contribute significantly to revenue growth.
  • Adhere rigorously to business development methodologies, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and excellence at every stage of the business-winning process, from lead generation to deal closure. Showcase your ability to navigate the competitive business environment and secure successful outcomes from conception to fruition.

What’s next? 

Short-listed applicants will be invited to participate in a 1-way video interview. Subsequent stages of the process will include a form of an interview, either in person or virtually. Once this interview stage has been completed preferred candidates will be sent background screening and pre-employment health assessments. Once all checks have been completed, successful candidates will be notified, and as we are a Circle Back Initiative all other applicants will receive a notification either via email or phone call.
