Pros and cons of working at Cardno

Pros

  • The people I work with are legends, both on a casual level and professional level. My team is super easy to work with, and super relaxed whilst always striving and pushing me to produce high quality work and advice to clients.

  • The best thing about working at Cardno is the exposure to industry leaders as mentors across a variety of environmental disciplines and the opportunity to steer my career to be centred on my passions and interests.

  • Fantastic people and great working culture. I really appreciate and respect the people that I work with, they are all kind, hard working and knowledgeable people.

  • Being able to work on a wide range of local and global projects with a team that values your input.

  • The variety of work and opportunities to partake in large roles

Cons

    • Consulting can be demanding when deadlines are looming. You'll have some late nights.

    • Being expected to sometimes work longer than the contract requirements. However, I believe this is the same at many consultancies.

    • Although the company is doing a better job communicating decisions and activity with the rest of the company, within teams maybe comms could be better. Nothing really to be disgruntled about at this stage.

    • There isn't a clear structure of career progression after the initial graduate program.
