The workplace actively tries to hire people from a range of backgrounds and different experiences. There is a women's group that operates in my region and it focuses on employing, retaining and developing women. However the company does struggle to retain and move women into hire positions despite recruiting about 50/50 men and women. There is lots of opportunities for professional development of women and there are a number of sponsors and leaders around the business advocating for this. However, there isn't great childcare arrangements in the business yet and this may also be contributing to issues surrounding retention of women. The work we do is quite demanding and requires long difficult hours that aren't always suited to all family arrangements and this needs to change. Paternity and maternity leave arrangements also need to be increased above the industry standard because of this issue.
There is currently no LGBTQI+ groups or initiatives to increase our recruitment of those in this community nor is there initiatives for those with disabilities. This is partly due to the laborious nature of our work and the required health checks for the job. I am not sure if the industry has the best culture for those in the LBTIQA+ community as it is heavily dominated by cis-gender males and operates in regional areas where these communities are considerably less prevalent. The company really should try to increase LBTIQA+ employment and seek to create a positive culture for those in this community. We could also do more training in this area for our staff.

I can't really speak on any issues in recruitment regarding diversity as it is not my line of work. No issues and reasonable diversity is found throughout the company as far as I can tell.

SRAP at Rydalmere is very diverse as there is signiÞcant representation of diversity in culture. Due to this there is also signiÞcant acknowledgement of these individuals cultural preferences such as vegetarian/halal options for speciÞc religious groups and organising events where alcohol may not be present.

I think Fulton Hogan does a very good job to hire and work with a very diverse range of people, if anything I would say they sometimes go too far at the expense of the product.

I personally donÕt pay attention to these things but I see lots of emails of events that support all of those things, so I believe the company is committed.

I have noticed that there is significant ethnic diversity in the FH workforce, especially with engineers. There are a significant amount of female engineers in the graduate program (maybe around 30%) however I have not experienced many female engineers in management roles.

Treat everyone same and provide us equal values

I appreciate the company making wide efforts to increase diversity, however obviously in construction this is challenging. There seem to be plenty of initiatives trying to push this, which is great. Unsure about others.

Not much gender or sexual orientation acknowledgement (which is not needed - given its irrelevance) but it is very good with all cultures.

No issues with the project I have been working on.

Due to the industry diversity can be a challenge, but I have met a variety of diverse people during my time with the company and that has been very reassuring of the company values. I have found that the company will help with the balance for new parents to help them spend valuable time with their kids.

I believe there are some initiatives towards getting more women & ethnic minorities & and Indigenous peoples. Not too familiar with childcare/maternity yet as I don't think this will affect me for a while.

The company is extremely diverse, this can be seen through the many different people and their respective backgrounds. There are people from all over the world, and their cultures are accepted. Women are highly regarded, with many women in senior positions which is great to see. Maternity leave is given to women to be able to raise their children throughout the first few months of their life. From speaking to many women retention is high within FH, with some being part of the company for 5-10+ years. This can be directly correlated to career progression and promotion.

There are some diversity programs and events but I believe there is also room for improvement. My graduate group have actually based our project around making an inclusivity program for the company to improve on this area.

Me being an international woman myself, I am extremely satisfied with the company's diversity and respect for women. Always ready to celebrate the diverse cultures and never had any issues with it at all.

My workplace has awesome intentions with diversity but currently there is still a huge gender gap in terms of male and female employment.

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have found it very welcoming and have had no issues within the workplace. I have found that the office has a range of different genders and backgrounds and have not seen any issues within the workplace.
