Job Satisfaction at Fulton Hogan

I feel like the work I am doing in the environment team is making a real difference. I love the opportunities I get to help train and develop others. Raising awareness about the environment in our work is greatly rewarding. I also love being able to assist on sustainability projects and improve operations on-site. I feel as though I am contributing to the sustainability of our company and reducing the impact we have on the planet and the community.

Day-to-day responsibilities vary and can sometimes leave a lot of spare time in the day. Often complete the same tasks when they come up.

Contracts administration

With my current team we are investigating our project This involves communication with sub contractors to organise work and receive documentation of the requested work Communicating with other Fulton Hogan employees to perform the work correctly i.e. organising comms letters, preparing shift reports for supervisors I also prepare a lot of documentation on our end to help us for future references such as creating templates and reports of linemarking quantity, service locating information, etc.

Only thing that makes it satisfying is the co-workers and that the alternative is being in an office from 9-5

standard site engineer responsibilities

Im a graduate civil engineer, I complete O&M Manuals, run fortnightly progress meetings with clients, create and amend pre-construction documents such as CMSs, Contracts, programs, plans etc. I also track a lot of QA for projects in construction. The work I do in my role is simple, can be repetitive at times and also sometimes I feel as the other engineers will dump tedious work onto me because they don't want to do it even if I was not on that project at all with them.

My role is quality assurance in asphalt laying, comprises mainly of gathering various quality information (test reports, traceability sheets) and sending them to clients to verify quality

developing scope, management plans, cad drawing and contacting contractors. Organising the job, make sure everything goes according to the plan, getting quotes, developing PO's and cost tracking.

The role is mostly enjoyable. It is less enjoyable when I don't have enough to do, or not enough direction on how to do my work.

As a comms graduate, the workload can be huge one day and small the next, but I feel like my line manager has increased my responsibilities and workload in a well constructed, supportive and logical way. My responsibilities are growing as I learn more, and I find that this helps my confidence! My work has largely been in assisting events, logging data, organising community engagement, discussing with the local community, emailing community members and managing occupations and their affect on the community. Additionally, I work directly with the client to draft and distribute works notices, working as a intermediary between the engineers and the community. The work and the job has exceeded my expectations.

As a graduate engineer I support other engineers in managing jobs, organising materials and resources, putting together documentation for works and delivering the works. I work closely with other key personal such as SEQ advisors, accountants and commercial managers to ensure the project is run safely and within budgets.

Environmental graduate - Perform environmental approvals such as STEP1s, STEP2s, MWREF and Project REF. - Carry out CEMP and sub-plans.
