I work in the environment & sustainability team. I know there is a strong commitment to sustainability and reducing our environmental impact across the business. We have a corporate HSEQ manager and a national carbon and circular economy manager. In all of our projects and regions we have HSEQ teams and sometimes separate environment and/or sustainability focused teams. We have a comprehensive carbon reduction strategy certified under the Toitu group and have dedicated teams and accountants who track our emissions. Our Environment, Quality and Safety Management systems are all certified under ISO and we work with organisations like sustainability advantage on targeted sustainability improvements. We are industry leaders in Recycled Asphalt Products (RAP) and have Environmental Product Declaration for our NSW Asphalting. We are committed to our sustainability and environmental policies, framework and roadmap and work closely with Fulton Hogan New Zealand on industry leading environmental projects.

The company has put lots into the Environment and Sustainability. I am part of the environmental team, which is growing in size which is great to see. Everyone values and respects the importance of the environment and I can confidently say that enviros are constantly in discussion with designers, planners and engineers to ensure the works they want to do are environmentally friendly. Sustainability is similar to the environment, where the company values its importance.

Environmental department is large and seems are working hard to try and meet the Governments goal of 30% reduction of CO2 by 2030. Company is quite green and always trying to better their environmental foot print.

Some effort, not enough immediate action and support from high up in the company, with an overall image.
