Fulton Hogan promotes a great work life balance and supports flexible workplace arrangements including working from home, remote work, on-site work and in the office. I like this balance and variety a lot and I feel supported in the future that if my personal circumstances change, work will be able to accommodate such arrangements.

I typically work 8-4/4:30 however these hours are often longer when on site. Company is rather flexible with these hours and I am able to change them as required.

Relatively flexible. Long hours if out on a worksite. Able to leave early if there is a lack of work.

My current team is ßexible in regard to appointments and if I may come in late or require to WFH due to commitments. Workload contributes to my working hours but generally I would try not to work any more than 40 hours a week as it is over time. I have recently worked with someone who were not ßexible but did not communicate their preferences.

On paper my hours are very flexible and I can finish work whenever I can, however with the lack of resources at the project we are working 13-14hr days consistently to as we need to get stuff down for tomorrow or the project stops and we loose money.

Works hours can differ depending on the project, however they are typically much longer than what is stipulated in your contract. However every area manager I have worked for has been very kind and generous in terms of flexibility if I ever needed it

I work on site at Bolivar so our hours usually start at 7am since thats when the tradies start. The tradies finish at 3pm so this is when I will finish too usually, some days I will stay longer if things are in progress such as meetings or important tasks. 8 hrs with a lunch break is the perfect hours for me as I am very busy outside of work and I need the work-life balance to not tip toward the work side. Other experienced engineers usually stay longer, such as starting at 7am and finishing at 4:30pm. I was told by my manager that if I am busy I should not force myself to leave at 3pm and just finish the task so it sets up the next day better. But he also said to not sit there and surf the web until 4:30pm, meaning if IÕve done my tasks and on top of things, itÕs Þne to leave at 3pm which I think is fair and good otherwise I would not enjoy working nearly as much If I was doing 10 hour days.

My unit is quite flexible when it comes to hours. There isn't a strict structure where you have to be in at a specific time or leave after a set amount of time. Depending on the day (whether I'm at site or in the office) I can spend anywhere from 7-11 hours at work.

Sometimes we might have to long hours on site but we can compensate on the days. office is having very flexible hours.

I have to work 50 hours and am paid for 40. There is little flexibility, it is mainly from team to team and project to project. My manager is pretty good if I have an appointment or plans and need to leave slightly early, but I always feel like I should be working 50 hours if I don't have anything important, or any specific reason to leave early, like needing a break or feeling tired isn't good enough.

I work from 7:30/8 to 5 generally, but the management team are very good if I need to leave slightly early for specific reasons. There is flexibility if I need to work from home for specific reasons, however I believe it is a different story for graduate engineers.

Long hours even though FH is great in flexibility the industry overall is long hours.
Graduate, Sydney - 23 Aug 2023
11 hours a day
Graduate, Sydney - 22 Aug 2023
No flexibility starts at 7, and finish on average of 6-6:30 which is good compared to the other engineers around me who work heaps more. Also, work every 2nd Saturday.
Graduate, Melbourne - 22 Aug 2023
Not really flexible required on site as soon as site is open for day shift.
Graduate, Nowra - 22 Aug 2023
Generally, I work 8-hour days, with occasional days where due to the nature of work on site, sometimes I work 10 hours in a day. However, I am able to work with my team to spread the load of work and be able to flexibly adjust working hours to fit the site requirements.

Very flexible, works for me because I am a mum.
Graduate, Sydney - 08 Aug 2023
Being in a project, it's difficult to say there's much flexibility.

I either work on-site, in the office or from home. When on site I normally work 7-4:30, which totals to 9 hours a day once you include a lunch break. Working 9 hours a day is not a problem for me, in fact there often isn't enough hours in the day! But working these hours on a daily basis took time to get used to but I am now used to it and am able to work effectively throughout the day. When at home or in the Richmond office I work 8:30 - 5:00. I am also used to this now. In terms of flexibility, FH is extremely flexible, there have been instances where I have not been able to work my full hours on a particular day and my manager/advisor is open to me having commitments outside of work.

I work from 8:30-5 but sometimes later. Company allows for working from home.
