It was really exciting to be involved in a project that was a pivotal moment for energy, and once operational, will result in an overall reduction of carbon dioxide emissions of more than 400,000 tonnes per year.

From working on a transaction for Australia’s first energy from waste facility, to being involved in a multi-billion dollar project to generate hydro power, Jotham Young’s internship and graduate years at Macquarie have enabled him to contribute to the decarbonisation of our energy system.

The Queensland University of Technology (QUT) acknowledges the Turrbal and Yugara, as the First Nations owners of the lands where QUT now stands. We pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research and learning.
