The pay is pretty standard compared to other Defence companies, however the GradX program provides 6-monthly pay rises for the first year, and a $5000 sign on bonus. The company also provides generous yearly bonuses to staff.

Salary negotiations are fairly difficult to succeed with. Even when employees have received competitive pay offers from other jobs, there has not been any negotiation for an increase in pay. This often results in those employees leaving the company for better pay elsewhere.

There is room for improvement on base pay. Bonuses are generous with everyone being eligible for an end of year bonus.

I think for a graduate and considering the reasonable hours and expectations, the starting salary is quite good. The salary increases 6 months in. After exiting the graduate program, pay increases are development-based. The end of year bonus is only applicable if working since the first half of the year.
