Marinus Link is a major infrastructure project that will support Australia’s transition to a clean energy future. The Governance and Legal team play a critical role in supporting the project by ensuring that we provide external and internal stakeholders with the information they need to be assured that the project is managed diligently and responsibly.
The project environment is different from other businesses – there is plenty of change, ambiguity and challenge as well as multiple stakeholders to work with and a schedule that is demanding at times. You will be part of a small, highly focused, team of governance and legal practitioners who genuinely care for and support each other, and know how to have fun. We need your help so that the whole team can manage and prioritise their time by providing what they need to streamline their work.
Marinus Link Pty Ltd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of TasNetworks, both of which are wholly owned by the State of Tasmania. Marinus Link Pty Ltd has been established as a special purpose vehicle to deliver the $3 billion-plus Marinus Link, a 1500-megawatt capacity undersea and underground electricity and telecommunications interconnector that will strengthen the National Electricity Market, offering low cost, reliable and clean energy. Marinus Link and the supporting transmission developments in North West Tasmania will play a key role in Australia’s future electricity grid, as supported by the Australian Energy Market Operator, the Australian Government and Infrastructure Victoria. We are collaborative, we value diversity of thought and share our expertise, we are inclusive, and are passionate about building a clean energy future and contributing to the economic growth and prosperity of regional Victoria and Tasmania.
You will report to and be the primary support for the Executive Manager as well as provide administrative and business support to the team, exercising judgement and initiative to understand and respond to individual needs and be able to navigate the peaks and troughs of the governance cycle.
You will be resilient, and manage conflicting priorities and challenges with a minimum of fuss. Your work will range from the calendar and email management to preparing, collating and distributing meeting papers and information, including for Board and Board Committees, tracking actions and record-keeping, as well as prioritising the Executive Manager's time and ensuring they are prepared with the right information to attend each meeting and complete critical tasks on time.
Ideally, you will have an interest in and understanding corporate governance and a project environment. It is essential that you are interested in this space and have a hunger for learning and making a difference.
A once in a lifetime career opportunity working on a high profile nationally significant project committed to delivering a low cost, reliable and clean energy future for Australia.
We offer strong career paths and excellent employee benefits including employee assistance programs designed to guide you in reaching your full potential. You will be a valued member of the Marinus Link team and work alongside experts in their field.
We offer a progressive approach to flexibility in the workplace, this includes flexibility in start and finishing times in line with project needs as well as working from home options where required.

The only negative would be the fact that the company is going through change currently after a recent merger. A lot of computer systems are changing as well as some of the processes, leaving a few people 'unhappy' which is slowing down workflow.
Restrictive in opportunities, very slow for work to progress.
Poor work ethic amongst a few employees.
The red tape and inability to effect change.
