About you

To be successful in this role and to become part of our graduate program you will be an individual of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and have a tertiary qualification in any field – Business, Finance, Engineering, IT, etc (having graduated or graduating in 2023-2025) . The ability to communicate effectively and work well in small teams across many areas of the business is essential. Sound computing skills and the ability to think strategically and manage concurrent tasks and priorities all whilst maintaining a commercial mindset are key success drivers to being a TasNetworks Graduate.

Just joined a new team but there are some interesting projects coming up that I will be involved with. Basically long term planning for the distribution and transmission networks and understanding how the networks operate and how they can be improved.

Pros and cons of working at TasNetworks

Pros

Cons

    • The only negative would be the fact that the company is going through change currently after a recent merger. A lot of computer systems are changing as well as some of the processes, leaving a few people 'unhappy' which is slowing down workflow.

    • Restrictive in opportunities, very slow for work to progress.

    • Poor work ethic amongst a few employees.

    • The red tape and inability to effect change.
