As a retail engineer, I design Shell branded service stations when we need to do major works. I enjoy the flexibility of working from home most of the time, while also being able to get out to site and see the service stations we design and build.

Wake up, get ready and walk the dog.

9.00 AM

Start work from home by replying to emails and organising my tasks for the day.

10.00 AM

Meeting with our consultants to discuss the design of service stations and the applications to council associated with these works.

11.00 AM

Weekly 1 on 1 meeting with my technical mentor to learn more about the technical details of what we look for in a good engineering design and execution of a service station.

12.00 PM

Lunch with fetch and some training for my crazy puppy. I usually make a quick and easy lunch at home as I like to spend more time with my puppy.

1.00 PM

Drive to a service station in metro Melbourne.

2.00 PM

Discuss the site and any issues with safety, contractor questions and learnings with the project managers who execute our designs.

Grab a quick coffee with my colleagues on site and then drive home from the service station.

5.00 PM

Grab a quick snack and check in with my partner about how his day was and more training and fetch for the puppy.

Go for a run with a local community running group.

7.00 PM

Get home for a shower, dinner and bed.
