The Opportunity
Logistics Team (Docklands)
The Viva Energy Logistics team is responsible for the safe delivery of over 7.5 Billion litres of fuel to Viva Energy’s customers all around Australia. Working hand in hand with our sales teams and our carrier partners, we deliver fuel and hydrocarbon products to customers across the country in all major sectors, including Mining, Chemicals, Marine, Transport and Retail.
The Logistics team is a team of 40 individuals, who cover a variety of roles associated with delivering fuel to our customers. Our team are a very experienced, highly integrated team, which makes it a great place to start a career in Viva Energy and learn from the best, while gaining great exposure to the rest of Viva Energy’s business units.
Working as part of the Logistics team, you have exposure to the entire range of Viva Energy’s operation within one team. In our team you could:
- Liaise with terminal and refinery operations to ensure smooth operations
- Bring together customers and Viva sales teams to improve commercial and operational outcomes
- Work with our carrier partners on value-add opportunities, including emissions reduction and sustainability
- Negotiate and deliver material, high value contracts
- Deliver tangible business development opportunities, dealing with top tier customers with a material impact on Viva’s financial outcomes

I work in a P&C Ops Analyst role where I assist with payroll duties and I also have been lucky enough to engage in projects like our recruitment ATS development and operator recruitment campaign.
I mostly handle the BAU (business as usual) tasks in cyber security. Tickets and security assessments.

Pros and cons of working at Viva Energy Australia
Pros
Everyone is super friendly and is happy to help in as much capacity as possible.
The work culture and environment are amazing. There is a fair work-life balance.
There are so many opportunities to learn and develop, it's just a matter of taking them or asking.
We are known for being an employer of equal opportunity for women and I feel that you can see even walking around the office how diverse our workforce is.
We do tree planting and sustainable events as well as volunteering days like preparing meals with the big umbrella to combat the cost-of-living crisis.
Cons
The lack of consistency in daily routines can be discombobulating if you don't have good systems for managing your time and stress.
There is a steep learning curve as the business is complex and requires some specialised knowledge.
Beautiful office in a good location but there are too many employees for the number of desks.
The lack of time between communicating changes and implementing them.
Sometimes there aren't documented processes which can be hard for new starters.
