Please describe the interview process and assessments.
My personal experience when being hired as an Intern was that it was a lengthy process. I had about 5 interviews. At the time I thought it was overkill but I can see why they really take the time to make sure everyone is the right fit for the team as they want to protect the culture. I also had to do a typing test, and personality test.

I had a lengthy interview process, firstly meeting with a partner and director of the office, then Keys, then Carts and then with each director of the office. As much as it was a long process, I really enjoyed it as I got to know the company and culture and understood everyone in the office quite well. Made it more welcoming when I started too as I met a fair few people in the office.

The interview process was quite short for me personally. Attend a graduate day and met multiple different people within a few hours before progressing to a second round and then a offer.

Intern, Sydney - 26 Sep 2024
it is multiple rounds of interviews with most senior people in the team
Graduate, Melbourne - 26 Sep 2024
Very thorough - 4 stage interviews, met with 6-7 people in the process. Felt excessive at the time, but looking back was good - they need to make sure they get the right people in.
Graduate, Sydney - 26 Sep 2024
It was a long process which had it's pros and cons. I met about 8 people in my interview process, it showed that everyone was consistent and they cared about who they were hiring. it was a three- four round process: phone screen, 2x teams calls and then a 2 hour interview with 4 people (a bit like speed dating, a new person came in every 30 mins), was originally scheduled for 2.5 hours but one colleague couldn't make it

There were a lot of stages, but great insight to the company and role.

There was a graduate day, where for a half day you undertook an interview process which would normally take weeks if not months to go through. It was made up of a round robin interview with all the consultants in the office and then a practical session where you undertook the basic of working in recruitment. Then there was a very informal Skype call with each partner, where we spoke about hobbies etc. These partners took the time to get to know you as a person. It was by far the best interview process I had been involved in as a graduate.

The interview process is thorough. Meeting with directors and leaders, you really get every opportunity to find out as much information about the company, their processes and what the culture is going to be like prior to being offered. It allows you to really understand the ins and outs which is really important when starting a career, it helps with making the right choice. Assessments are personality and characteristics based. Which outlines your strengths and working behavioural style etc.

I was a special exception when going through the process of getting this position. I was unable to attend the graduate day and cannot speak on what that is like. I did however get a chance to meet the senior partners and the informal conversational style resonated well with me and made me feel instantly comfortable and open up.

My resume was given to Elise Ford the director of the grad program 20 min phone interview, I was then asked to attend the graduate program day where I could not attend, so a Ms-teams meeting was made with two of the team members. I then had a face-to-face interview with the director of the digital and tech team and a manager. Finally, I had a meeting with Christian Keyo the Wellbeing director of Sharp & Carter. The whole interview process was conducted in 2 weeks with 4 interviews over 2 different platforms

What questions were you asked in your interviews?
I was asked about my prior experience, my interests, my life and family. I was also quizzed around my understanding of recruitment and why it appeals to me. The interviews were more of a conversation.

I was asked questions that ranged from tell me about yourself, to philosophical questions that made me really think about how I would act in certain situations. Most questions were behavioural.

Do you have any specific tips and advice for candidates applying to your company? How would you recommend they best prepare?
I would recommend to just be yourself. As a intern/graduate, you are hired for your personality and how you communicate rather than what you know about recruitment.
Graduate, Melbourne - 30 Sep 2024
Be yourself, honest and open.
Graduate, Brisbane - 27 Sep 2024
My advice would be to show your true self and show your personality. It would probably be the most major factor for the role more than your academic achievements or prior experience.

Be yourself. Nobody is going to judge you, everyone is inclusive. Its normal to be nervous but all anyone really wants is to just to get to know you to see if you have the right aptitude for recruitment.
