There is the ability to apply for a PT3 role while a graduate, if such a job becomes available. Otherwise, the pay increases gradually at the end of every year.

The culture can vary between different parts of the business, but in my area, we have flexible working arrangements (working from home 40% of the time). We work our 8 a.m.–4 p.m. hours and are not expected or encouraged to work overtime, which means great work-life balance! The people are great, supportive, and want you to take every development opportunity relevant to our roles. The communication between teams within QR can vary, as there are many people who love to talk about what they do and are super passionate and helpful, and then there are some teams that are really difficult to communicate with. Sometimes we struggle with silos within the organization. I report up to a team leader, who reports to their manager, who reports to the senior manager, who reports to the CFO, and who reports to the CEO.

Diversity in its many forms is a huge focus for the organization. It focuses on ensuring everyone feels valued and respected for who they are and to whom they belong. As an ethnic person, I have found it to be invaluable.

My day-to-day responsibilities involve reviewing design documentation and providing feedback on packages submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with QR standards. I also coordinate meetings with subject-matter experts to review such design packages. So it is a half-project coordination and half-technical engineering role. Note that this is just my current rotation; in my other rotations, I have done technical design work, assisted electricians in construction, and done maintenance activities with reliability engineers.

They are very satisfied with managers; they are accessible when not in meetings; and they are good mentors.

The office I work in is in an amazing location, just outside Brisbane Central Station. It is a 2-minute walk from the train station. The office space and facilities achieve what they need to do, but they are definitely on the older side of things. It isn't super impressive or modern, but it is functional. This also depends on which office you work at. Some of our offices are in nicer and more modern buildings, which include electric sit-stand desks.

Initial application, then a video interview. Finally, we had a candidate day where we had a group activity followed by speed interviews where we rotated between different tables.

We get paid very well for what we do, and the free train travel is a very nice bonus to have. I think I am paid very well for someone who is 3 years out from university graduation.

We have some really good internal leadership training courses and various other online training modules for skills like risk management and using SAP. We also have an RTO to get certification. My team supports our development and has paid for our training for certain programs we use, such as Power BI, Power Apps, Tableau, and Lean Six Sigma.

Our team is very flexible with our work hours. As long as we complete the work that we need to do, we can clock off early for appointments and take regular breaks as needed. I work a regular 7.6hr day from 8am-4pm which is 38hr weeks.
